CONVERSIONS:

1 Acre = 43,560 sq. ft.
1 Acre = 134 cubic yards @ 1" deep
1 Cubic Yard = 27 cubic feet

CALCULATIONS:

Square Feet (SF): Width x Length (i.e. 10' W x 90' L = 900 SF)

Cubic Feet (CF): # sq ft ÷ 9 (i.e. 900 SF ÷ 9 = 100 CF)

Cubic Yards (CY): # CF ÷ 27 (i.e. 100 CF ÷ 27 = 3.7 CY)

MULCH

1 Cubic Yard (CY) will cover 150 sq ft approx 2" deep
1. Determine square footage of your bed (WxL) = sq ft
2. Multiply your square footage by depth desired in inches
3. Divide by 324. This will tell you how many CY.

Example for 10' x 50' planting bed with 2" of mulch:
10' x 50' = 500 sq ft x 2" = 1000 ÷ 324 = 3 CY mulch
